WHITELEY, JAMES SAMUEL
James S. Whiteley, 94, of McNair Manor and formerly of Pine St., Moncton, with his loving family at his side, passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on Tuesday, April 14, 2015.
Born in Saint John, he was the son of the late William and Maud (Bishop) Whiteley. James was a Loom Operator for NB Wire Fence Co. He was a member of Highfield Baptist Church, a Dominion Life Member, member of the Brotherhood Bible Class and “Young at Heart” group within the church.
James will be sadly missed by his daughter, Edris MacDonald (Borden) of Virginia; sons, Steven (Irene) of Mechanic Settlement, John (Alice) of Moncton, Lorne (Doris) of Kuujjuaq, QC and Keith (Mary) of Kitchener, ON; 12 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren; sister, Hazel White and sister-in-law, Willa Sealy; several nieces, nephews and extended family members.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Margaret B. (Steeves) Whiteley (April 2009); brother, Earl and sisters, Helen, Nora, Mildred and Irene.
The family would like to thank the Staff at McNair Manor for the loving care given to Dad over the last six years. The family would also like to thank the Staff at The Moncton Hospital, Floors 4200, 5200 and 3600 for the exceptional care given to Dad during his stay.
Visitation at Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Friday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. Funeral Service at Fergusons Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, April 18, 2015 at 10:30 am, with Pastor Gary Barr officiating. Reception in the Funeral Home Reception Centre following the service. Interment, Fair Haven Memorial Gardens.
In memory of James, donations to the Alzheimer Society or the Friends of The Moncton Hospital (Palliative Care) would be appreciated by the family.
