At Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Thursday, Jan. 22, 2009, of Edmund John MacNevin of O’Leary aged 88, beloved husband of Florence (nee Adams-MacDougall). Born in St. Eleanors on May 11, 1920, son of the late John and Margaret (Oatway) MacNevin. Special uncle of Jean (Edgar) Oatway, Summerside, who was raised as a daughter. Stepfather of Wayne (Joan) MacDougall, O’Leary, Jean (late Clare) MacDougall, Ellerslie, Doris (late Perley) MacNeill, Charlottetown, Heath (Maxine) MacDougall, O’Leary, Esther (Dewar) Oulton, Brae Harbour. Stepgrandfather of 12 grandchildren. Dear brother of Aletha (late Sam) Cornish, O’Leary. Brother-in-law of Lorne (Wanda) Adams, Knutsford, Annie Getson, Carleton, Lot 6, Mary Dunbar, Alma, Cowen Wallace, O'Leary; Ewen (Mary Alice) Wallace, St Margarets Bay, N.S., Doris MacNevin, Summerside. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his first wife, Florence Wallace-MacNevin, in 1988, brothers, Ira (Mary), Ernest, Hilbert (first wife Jessie) (second wife Bertha), Hubert, Garfield, and sister, Milita, brothers and sisters-in-law, Erma (Lawson) MacNevin, Margaret (Russell) Lockhart, Albert (Etta Mae) Wallace, Gertrude (Stanford) MacNeill, George, John, Chester Getson, Jack Dunbar and Erma Wallace. Resting at the Ferguson Funeral Home and Chapel, O’Leary with visiting hours Saturday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral on Sunday in the Chapel at 2 p.m. Interment to follow in the Brae United Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials to the Brae United Church would be appreciated.
