Roy Spencer Smith passed away unexpectedly April 7, 2015 in Longueuil, QC at the age of 70.
Roy is survived by his wife, Suzanne Smith (Minville); children, William Smith (Wendy), Jean Langille (James), Angela Dalton (Trevor), Tina Smith (Bobby), Mathias Smith, Lucas Smith; brother Lawrence Smith (Edna), sister Marion Plaster (Fred), sisters-in-law Mary Smith (James), Carol Smith (Eldon), Uncle Neil Astle, eleven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by son Alexandre Smith, brothers Fred Smith, Eldon Smith, James Smith, sister Beatrice Leblanc and brother-in-Law James Leblanc, Parents Alexander and Verna Smith.
Roy was born on December 14, 1944 in Astle, NB. Roy spent his childhood years in Napadogan, NB. He joined the Canadian Armed Forces in 1964 and retired with the rank of Warrant Officer. He was a witty individual who loved his family, playing card games and enjoying the occasional beer. He cherished all the hunting trips with his brothers over the years and often spoke fondly of their adventures. Roy was a master chef in the kitchen, preparing many delicious meals for his family. Roy was also a hockey fanatic, whether it was cheering for his sons from the stands or cheering for the Montreal Canadiens.
A Celebration of Life will be held April 19, 2015 at the Kingsley Hall, 58 Kingsley Road, Kingsley, NB at 2 pm.
In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made in Roy's memory to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
