It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Josephine Fullom on Thursday, April 23, 2015, at the Northside General Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Born in North Sydney, she was the daughter of the late Norman and Mary (Young) MacLean. Josephine worked for many years with the Northside Victoria District School Board as a LBG Supervisor at various schools, the latest being Memorial High School until her illness forced her to retire this past October. Josephine enjoyed spending time with children of all ages. She was a devoted wife and mother and proud grandmother to Jacob.
Josephine is survived by her loving husband of 37 years, Ernest; by her daughter Noelle Fullom (Brian MacNeil) of Florence; her son Ernie (Paula Herridge) of Point Aconi; her grandson Jacob; her two sisters, Theresa (Roddie) Bennett of Ontario, Norma (Dave McKinnon) of Sydney Mines; and her four brothers, Russell (Aggie) MacLean, Joey MacLean and Thomas 'Buddy' MacLean, all of North Sydney, Hector (Brenda) MacLean of Sydney Mines and also by many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents; two brothers, Sid, George; sister-in-law, Kathleen MacLean; nephews Trevor and Christopher and great niece Charmaine.
Visitation for Josephine will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 Sunday, in the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant St., North Sydney. Funeral mass will be held 2 p.m. Monday at St. Joseph Church Bras d’Or, with Rev. Peter McLeod officiating. Burial will take place in St. Joseph Cemetery at a later date.
Memorial donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of choice.
