PAYNE, Leonard J. – Passed peacefully away on Thursday, January 22, 2009, in the presence of his loving family at the Health Sciences Complex, Leonard J. Payne in his 72nd year. Predeceased by his parents Leonard Sr. and Georgina (nee Long) Payne, sisters Louise Webb, Catherine (Robert) Tobin, Elizabeth (Peter) Ryan, Mary, Patricia (James Sexton), brothers William, John Robert “Bobby”, Eugene (Carmelita) and brother-in-law Brian Broom. Leaving to mourn with cherished and loving memories his wife of 34 years, Margaret, daughter Jennifer Lynn, son Stephen, sister Sheilah Broom, New Hampshire, U.S.A., sister-in-law Lydia Payne, St. John’s and special sister-in-law Clare and special friend Doris. Also leaving to mourn a large extended family in N.L., P.E.I, P.Q., B.C. and U.S.A. Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road on Sunday, January 25th, 2009 from 7-9 p.m., Monday, January 26th, 2009 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass to take place on Tuesday, January 27th, 2009 at 10 a.m. from St. Paul’s Roman Catholic Church, Newfoundland Drive with cremation to follow.
