Max Carr

CARR, MAX SYLVESTER
Max Sylvester Carr passed away peacefully in Drumheller, Alberta on April 11, 2015 at the age of 79. He was born in Boiestown on May 31, 1935, son of Elaine and Richard Carr. Growing up Max loved to play baseball and hockey and enjoyed working in the store with his grandparents Grace and John Whalen.
At an early age Max joined the Royal Canadian Air Force working as an Aero Engine Technician. This career saw him stationed in Germany and various Bases in Canada. After 26 years he retired from the Air Force and became a Correctional Officer at the Drumheller Correctional Institution for 21 years. Max was a generous, witty, caring and honourable man who loved sports, crib, darts and all his doggies, but most of all his family. He was an active member of the Royal Canadian Legion.
He is lovingly remembered by his family; wife, Betty, children; Richard (Patti), Calgary, Alberta, David (Diana), West Bank, BC, Cathy Bloomfield (Bernie), West Kelowna, BC, Douglas (Shirley), Sherwood Park, Alberta, his step-children; Debbie, Calgary, Alberta, Traci (Doug), Drumheller and Cristi (Tracy), Calgary, Alberta, his grandchildren and great granddaughter, sisters and brother; Grace Trecartin, Belleville, Ontario, Judy McAloon (John), Fredericton, Pat Carr (Debbie), Hillsborough, Joanne Doucette, Barbara Hunter (Keith), Beth Storey (Roger) all of Doaktown, sister-in-law, Joan Carr of Salisbury and all of his nieces and nephews. Max was predeceased by his parents, Elaine and Richard Carr, his brother Vincent (Cork) and his brother-in-law Clayton Trecartin.
A memorial service was held at the Drumheller Legion on April 16, 2015.
Interment will be at St. Joachims Cemetery in Boiestown at a later date.
For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Royal Canadian Legion or the Central NB Nursing Home in Boiestown or the charity of your choice.
