LANDRY, DONALD G.
1932-2015
Donald G. Landry of Shediac, loving husband of Alma (Cormier) passed away peacefully surrounded with the love and prayers of his family on Thursday, May 07th, 2015 at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont University Hospital Centre in Moncton in his 82nd year.
Born in Dupuis Corner on December 24th 1932, he was the son of the late Léandre and Rina (Richard) Landry.
Donald was a lifelong resident of Shediac and proudly represented his community for many years as a Town Councillor. Prior to his retirement in 1993, he worked for Lounsbury Automotive Ltd (Moncton) as an Auto-Body Technician/Insurance Adjuster.
Donald enjoyed travelling to Florida in the winter months, especially St. Pete’s. He was an avid 200 card player. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, darts and also watching sports on television, especially hockey.
Donald will be sadly missed by his wife of 63 years, Alma; his children: Michel (Huberte) Landry of Moncton, Gilberte (Yvon) Martin, Claude (Peggy) Landry, Claudette Landry all of Shediac River, Charline (Blair) McInnis of Moncton; his sisters: Janita Landry, Celia (late Jean) Boudreau and Carmella (Gerard) Boucher all of Shediac; 13 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Besides his parents, Donald was predeceased a son Paul (1969).
The family will receive condolences at the Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 396 Main Street Shediac (532-3297) on Sunday from 2 to 4 and from 7 to 9, Monday from 9:30 till departure time at 10:15. The funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 514 Main Street, Shediac at 10:15.
In Lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Alzheimer Society of New Brunswick would be greatly appreciated by the family.
