Mabel Emma Constance Shepherd (nee Snell) of Moose Jaw, passed away peacefully on February 26, 2015 at the age of 95. Born in Christow, Devon England in 1919. She immigrated in 1926 to Canada with her family. They settled on a farm near the village of Briercrest later moving into the village. After graduating from high school she worked for various district farm ladies before marrying Stanley Shepherd of Hearne. There, they raised their family. After retiring from farming they moved in 1969 to Fort St. John, BC. A decade later they retired to Moose Jaw until their passing. Predeceased by her parents Decimus and Clara Snell, husband Stanley Frank, daughter Linda Faye Johnson, brothers William Henry and John Albert, sisters Lenore Snell and Marjorie Jukes, sisters-in-law Marlene Snell, Mildred Shepherd, Myrville Shepherd, Darlene Shepherd, Beryl Lambertus, Hazel Shepherd, brothers-in-law Leonard Fenske, Jerry Lambertus, Gordon Shepherd, Walter Shepherd, Glen Shepherd, nieces Shelly Ann Fenske, Donalda Fenske, Bejal Snell, nephews Jamie Snell, Mark Doucette, and Allan Lambertus. Mabel is survived by daughter Gayle Wagner (Dudley), son Garry, son-in-law Grant Johnson (Cathy); granddaughters Lenora Johnson and Kelly Baggaley; grandsons Chris Wagner and Evan Johnson; great-grandsons Jakob and Caeleb Johnson; her sister Decima Mary Fenske, sister-in-law Marion Snell, brother-in-law Harral Jukes; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mabel was a life time member of the United Church of Canada and a member of the WA, WMS and UCW. Besides serving on various church committees she was a leader of girls CGIT and boys TYRO organizations. In her later years she was a member of The Pvthian Sisters and received a Voluntary Service Award from The Supreme Chief. Besides her devotion to the church and other organizations she was a baby sitter. She looked after many of her nieces, nephews, grandsons and numerous children whose parents heard about her child care ability. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2015 at 10:30 AM at Minto United Church, 1036 7th Avenue NW, Moose Jaw. Mr. Gary Johnson officiate will officiate. Interment will be in Rosedale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Canadian Celiac Association. In living memory of Mabel, a memorial planting will be made by W.J.
