Weleena Apostle
Weleena (Willie) Agnes Apostle passed away peacefully surrounded by endless love on October 10, 2014 after a long and beautiful life. Weleena was born in Welwyn, Saskatchewan on May 31, 1933 to Harry and Lillian and grew up surrounded by her dear siblings: Frieda, Fran, Harry, Lillian, Lorne and Vearl. Moose Jaw was where Weleena spent most of her life, she attended Peacock High school and spent much of her time writing, singing and dancing with her close friends. Years later she met Edward Apostle and fell in love instantaneously. They were married in 1956 and although their time together was short (Edward passed away in 1957) she always spoke with a tenderness about their time together. Weleena's true passion was the people she loved and cared for, and that was never more evident as it was when she was with her two sons, Wayne and Randy. The pride and happiness she felt for her sons was evident in every word she spoke and every action she made. Whether it was watching Randy grow into an accomplished Writer/Director/Producer or watching Wayne grow into a beloved high school teacher, or seeing them both become doting husbands and fathers, she loved her boys from the absolute marrow of her bones. Weleena is immediately survived by her son Randy and grandsons: Jackson, Devin and Jack. She leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, grand and great grandchildren all of which she loved and spoke about often. She lived her life with a joy and her own selfless love that can never be duplicated but which we should all learn from and strive for. She will be missed by many and loved forever more. A Memorial Tea will be held on Sunday, May 31, 2015 at 2:30 pm at Happy Valley in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. Arrangements are entrusted to Parkview Funeral Chapel.
