With great sadness we announce that Pierce Bailey, age 54, died peacefully in his sleep at home on May 16th, after living several years with a degenerative neurological disease. We remember a man who loved his Lord, enjoyed being a part of his church family, biking, playing games with friends, playing guitar and who was very proud of his son Madison. He worked at what he loved, teaching math and statistics for over twenty years at the College of the North Atlantic. His family and friends who will miss his presence: his wife of 23 years, Bobbie, his much loved son, Madison, sister Susan Bailey (Rachel), brother Brian Johnston (Mary), brother Bruce Christie, sister-in-law Carol Johnston, special aunt Mildred Bailey, and family member Josephine Dyke, as well as a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members and close friends. Predeceased by his mother and father, Elizabeth and Victor Bailey and brother Morley Johnston. Many thanks to friend and physician Dr. Blair Drover, who went out of his way with house calls and years of caring and our gratitude to Dr. Mark Stephanelli for his deep and genuine concern. Resting at Carnell's Funeral Home 329 Freshwater Road, on Monday from 7-9 p.m., Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held from the Carnell Memorial Chapel on Wednesday May 20, 2015 at 11 a.m. In Lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.
