HARLOW, Joan Baker, 82, Sandy Point, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, May 19, 2015. Born in Lockeport she was a daughter of the late Malcolm and Abigail (Seaboyer) Dunlop. She was a loving daughter, sister, granddaughter, wife, mother, nanny and GG-Ma. Joan was a member of the Sable River and Area Women’s Institute and Sable River Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxilary for many years. She was an avid volunteer for Roseway Manor, Shelburne, Sandy Point Lighthouse and Beech Street Studio, Lockeport. Joan had a great affection for her best friend, Jeanette Smith, her partner in crime for games and fun at the Shelburne County Whirligig Festival and Shelburne County Exhibition. She loved music and her church, both the Shelburne Baptist and the Sable River Baptist Church. Joan was loved by all she knew and cherished and will be sadly missed by family and friends. Joan is survived by son, Darrell (Deena), grandchildren, Jurnee Harlow, step-son, Jamie Atwood, grandchildren, Amiah-Claire and Izaac; daughter, Cynthia, grandchildren, Briana, Justin and Sonya Drebot and great grandchildren, Kian and Sena; brothers, Howard and Paul Dunlop as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Milton Edward Harlow; mother, Abigail Seaboyer (Dunlop/Walls); father, Malcolm Dunlop and step-father Fred Walls. Visitation will be Friday, May 22 from 7-9 p.m. in H.M. Huskilson`s Funeral Home, Shelburne. A funeral service will take place on Saturday at 11:30 a.m in the Sable River Baptist Church with Pastor Wayne Dooks officiating. Burial in Hillside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Sable River Baptist Church, Canadian Cancer Society for Head and Neck or a charity of choice.
