At the P.E.I. Atlantic Baptist Nursing Home on Wednesday, January 28, 2009, of Mrs. Hilda M. McAvinn (nee McKenna) of Charlottetown, in her 95th year. Dear mother of Paula Larivee of Charlottetown and Coleen (Michael) Pasquini of Niagara Falls, Ontario. She will also be lovingly remembered by grandchildren, Sarah (Paul) Tas, Aaron (Krista) Larivee, Rachel Larivee, Laura, Katie and Mark Pasquini; and great-grandchildren, Simone, Hannah and Thomas Tas, Jillian and Julian Larivee. She is also survived by her sister, Sr. Nora McKenna, Sisters of Charity, Halifax, N.S.; and two sisters-in-law, Angie McKenna, Halifax, N.S., and Doris McKenna, Moncton, N.B. She was predeceased by her husband, Thomas McAvinn; son-in-law, Paul Larivee; her parents, John F. and Catherine McKenna; brothers and sisters, Louis, Ruth, Maurice, Mary, Father Leonard, Charles, George Norbert, Austin and Gerald. Resting at the Charlottetown Funeral Home, 33-35 Longworth Avenue, for visitation on Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Monday morning with funeral mass from the Church of the Most Holy Redeemer at 10 a.m. Interment later in the family plot at the Roman Catholic Cemetery. If so desired, memorial contributions in Hilda\'s memory may be made to the P.E.I. Atlantic Baptist Nursing Home or charity of choice.
