We regret to announce the sudden passing of Jean Pearl Campbell on June 5, 2015 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Born on July 5, 1934 in Sydney, Jean was the daughter of the late John and Viola (Miller) Tobin.
Jean was a true lady. Having a career in fashion in her earlier years, Jean was always in style. She was an avid reader and loved the history of the Royal families. She loved the Irish culture and music so much, Jean would dream of someday visiting Ireland. She will be remembered by family and friends for being strong willed and having a soft heart for animals.
Jean is survived by her children, Robert, Ralston and Sheila; siblings, William (Bonnie) Tobin, West Hill, Ont., Mary MacInnis, Sydney, James 'Jim' Tobin, Sydney, Lucy Tortola, Caroline (Jack) Hynes, Glace Bay, and Alma Tobin, Belleville, Ont. Jean also leaves behind four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Jean was predeceased by her husband, James Campbell.
Memorial service to celebrate the life of Jean Pearl Campbell will be held at Pier Community Funeral Home, All Faith Chapel, 1092 Victoria Rd. (entrance on Church Street) on Sunday, June 14, 2015 at 1 p.m. Following the service family and friends are invited to a reception from 2 to 4 p.m. at 429 Oceanview Rd. East off Hwy 327 south. Private family interment will take place at a later date.
Donations in memory of Jean may be made to SPCA of Cape Breton or charity of one’s choice.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care and direction of Pier Community Funeral Home.
