We regret to announce the passing of William ‘Bill’ MacLeod, 74, on Monday, April 20, 2015, in Kamloops, B.C.
Born in Sydney Mines on March 3, 1941, he was the son of the late John T. and Rose (Turner) MacLeod.
Bill grew up in Sydney Mines. He served in the air force, and spent some time working at the archives in Halifax. After his retirement, he moved to Vancouver, took a barbering course, and worked as a barber right up until he became ill.
He was a devoted member of his parish Sacred Heart Cathedral, a member of the KOC and worked with the St. Vincent de Paul Society.
He is survived by brothers, Jack (Anita), Ingonish, and Fr. Greg, Sydney; sister, Bev (Mitchelitis); and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Melvin, Michael, Bob and Jim and a sister, Theresa.
A celebration of his life will be held on Tuesday, June 16, 2015, at 10 a.m. in Holy Family Church, Sydney Mines, with Fr. Greg MacLeod officiating.
