The death occurred at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on Friday, June 12, 2015, of Alfred Lloyd Carew of Charlottetown, (and formerly of Hunter River), age 93 years. Beloved husband of the late Margaret Carew (nee Montgomery) for 64 years. Lloyd was born in St. Eleanors on March 14, 1922, to the late Alfred and Mabel Carew. Dear father of Merilyn, Beryl, and Wayne (Nancy), and loving grandfather of Michael. He is also survived by his sisters Jean Frizzell and Harriet (Allison) Frizzell; brother Melvin (Carol) Carew; sisters-in-law Lois Carew, Ruth MacKay and Beulah Roberts; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Lloyd was predeceased by his parents-in-law, Cuthbert and Margaret (Cousins) Montgomery and Ethel Montgomery; siblings Louise Silliphant, Anna Rodd, Frances Gamble and John Carew; brothers- and sisters-in-law Merton Gamble, Sam Silliphant, Lloyd Frizzell, Wendell Rodd, Hodge (Carmen) Montgomery, Sutherland (Marion) Montgomery, Muriel (Leigh) MacEwen, George MacKay and Al Roberts. Resting at Belvedere Funeral Home, Charlottetown, for visitation Sunday from 3-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Monday at the Central Queen’s United Church, Hunter River at 10 a.m. Interment in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
