Shirley May Whitehouse passed away on Wednesday, January 28, 2009, at the age of 78 years at the Agape Hospice. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Paula (Patrick) Cox, Gem, AB; Wendy Russell (Royce Townsend), Wabasca, AB; Jim (Verna) Whitehouse, Calgary, AB; Edna Whitehouse (Lorraine Lange), Victoria, B.C.; Rona (Ray) Reitsema, Calgary, AB; Naomi Jamieson, Calgary, AB; Daniel (Carrie) Whitehouse, Calgary, AB; Lorita Whitehouse, Calgary, AB; grandchildren, Jennifer Therriault, Denea (Nick) Beer, Sarah Cox, Erin Russell, Levon Russell, Callen Russell, Jaren Whitehouse, Dallas Whitehouse, Riva Whitehouse, Nathan (Christy) Reitsema, Lindsay (Jeremey) Priebe, Nicholas Jamieson, Michael Whitehouse, Chelsey Haakenson, Shelby Haakenson, Tempest Wilson, Rodney Wilson; great-grandchildren, Marguerite, Olivia, Liam, Arianna, Taylon, Dameon, Maddox and Sarai. Shirley will also be missed by her siblings, Edna (John) Brunkhorst of Waverly, IA, Leona Mullen of Mount Stewart, P.E.I., Marian (Ed) Brown of Regina, SK, Tom (Pat) Atkins of Mount Stewart, P.E.I., Brenda (Don) Bangay of Saint John (Quispamsis), N.B.; niece, Jo-Anne Mullen, St. Thomas, ON, and numerous other nieces, nephews and very dear friends. She is predeceased by her husband, Ronald Whitehouse; brother, Leo Atkins; brother-in-law, Wilfred Mullen; and son-in-law, Wyatt Jamieson. She loved life and we loved her. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at a visitation at Foster’s Garden Chapel, 3220 - 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen's Park Cemetery) on Sunday, February 1, 2009, from 6-8 p.m. A funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Mary's Cathedral, 219 - 18 Ave. SW, Calgary, AB, on Monday, February 2, 2009, at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made directly to St. Vincent de Paul de Montreal, 427 Rue de la Commune, Montreal, QC, CA, H2Y 1J4.
