Margaret Rose-Pineo

(Pike) Passed gently in the presence of her children, Margaret (Pike) Rose- Pineo of Fredericton, NB, wife of the late William Pineo, occurred on Friday, January 25, 2008 at York Manor Nursing Home, Fredericton, NB. Born on July 18, 1926 in Harbour Grace, NL, she was the daughter of the late Cecil John and Lilian (Tucker) Pike. Margaret was a salesperson with Ayre's Department Store in St. John's, NL for many years. Margaret was a member of United Church of Canada. She also was a member of the United Church Women and of the Fredericton Quilters Guild. Margaret was awarded an "Unsung Hero's Award" in 1997 for her community work and volunteering. Margaret is survived by her son, Keith Rose (Linda) of Berwick, NS; two daughters, Gayle Corbett (Garry) of St. John's, NL, Trudy Corey (Steven) of Burtt's Corner, NB; seven grandchildren, John (Melanie) Rose, Lisa (Mike) Hartwick, Ben Rose, Nancy Corbett (Mike), Richard Corbett (Payal), Matthew Corey (Michelle), Evan Corey; 4 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Steve Pike (Maureen) of St. John's, NL, Clifford Pike (Paula) of Halifax, NS; four sisters, Dorothy Hilliker of Ottawa, ON, Pauline Lennor of Pennsylvania, June Glynn (Gordon) of Middle Cove, NL, Shirley McNeil (Donald) of St. John's, NL along with several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents, Margaret was predeceased by her first husband Llewellyn Rose; her second husband Harold Rose and two brothers Clarence and Gordon Pike. The family will receive guests at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Monday, January 28, 2008 from 7-9 pm. A Memorial Service will take place at York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel, on Tuesday, January 29, 2008 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Dr. Amos Adeniyi officiating. In honor of Margaret, donations may be made to your local food bank.
