Clifford George Evenson age 76 years of Frontier, Saskatchewan died on Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at the Eastend Wolf Willow Health Centre at Eastend, Saskatchewan, following a lengthy illness.
He was born on October 30, 1938 at Frontier, Saskatchewan. He completed his schooling in Frontier in 1957 and graduated from the School of Agriculture at the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon. He started farming and ranching with his father and began working for various oil companies in the Rapdan Oilfield. He continued in the oilfield for 30 years. He gradually increased his farm land over the years and farmed until three years ago when his health prevented him. He married Maryln Stevenson on June 1, 1963 at Shaunavon, Saskatchewan. He was a member of the Frontier Board of Trade and served on the Frontier Credit Union Board and the Frontier United Church Board. He enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren over the years as they played hockey and took part in other activities. He also enjoyed doing woodworking.
He was predeceased by his son Michael on November 8, 1975, his father Silas on February 11, 1999, his mother Gertrude on December 7, 1999, his nephews Trent Evenson and Blake Evenson, his sister-in-law Suzanne Evenson and his father-in-law Albert Stevenson.
He is survived by his wife Maryln, daughter Colleen Evenson, grandsons Brady Samoleski (Shayla) and Kyler Samoleski (Myrna-May Ross), all of Frontier and Trent Evenson and Trevor Evenson, both of Regina; two brothers Rodney (Wanda) of Lethbridge, nephew Dion, and Terry of Frontier, nephew Ryan and niece Terrah; his mother-in-law Grace Stevenson, brother-in-law Brian Stevenson (Karen), nephews Vince and Lance, all of Shaunavon.
Funeral Services were held onMonday, June 22, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. from Frontier United Church in Frontier with Minister Shelby Kinrade officiating. The eulogy was presented by Colleen Evenson. Interment took place at Ridgely Cemetery at Frontier. Binkley’s Funeral Service of Shaunavon (www.Binkleys.com) was in charge of the arrangements.
Pallbearers were Glen Evenson, Gerry Evenson, Stacey Evenson, Ryan Evenson, Dion Evenson and Vince Stevenson.
