Farhat, Mary (nee Roberts) — Passed peacefully away at St. Patrick’s Mercy Home on Thursday Jan. 29th in her 75th year. Predeceased by her parents James and Anne Roberts, husband Kareem Farhat and her brother Tom. Left to mourn with wonderful memories are her devoted sister Anne Marie (Bern) Metcalfe, brother Jim Roberts on Bell Island, sister-in-law Linda Roberts Georgetown, Ont., niece Lynn Anne, great-niece and nephew Taylor and Nathan, all of Ontario. Special friends Christine Ballard, Mary Pearson and Sadie Rockwell. Special thanks to staff and volunteers of 2 North for their kindness to Mary, also to Fr. Maddigan and the Sisters of Mercy. Resting at Pendergast’s Funeral Home on Saturday 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m., Sunday 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass of Christian burial on Monday in St. Michael’s Church Bell Island at 11 a.m. Interment to follow in St. Michael’s Cemetery.
