LACKIE, ALLEN ELLWOOD
Allen Lackie, husband of Sandra (Israel) Lackie, passed away on July 3rd, 2015, at the Saint John Regional Hospital, after a period of failing health. Born in Saint John on October 7, 1941, he was a son of the late Mary (Heustis) and Samuel Lackie.
Allen retired from Canada Post as a Dispatcher, a job that he loved.
He enjoyed woodworking, jigsaw puzzles, travelling; many family trips to Toronto and the US, camping in Grand Lake, hunting, and even having ‘a little drink’ once in a while.
In addition to his wife of 50 years, Allen is survived by his daughters Christina Cunningham (Jon) and Kimberley Garland (George), both of Saint John, sisters Muriel Hampton and Eleanor Tayes (John), grandson Jared, and Allen’s beloved cat, Pixie.
Allen was predeceased by his brothers Royden and Gerald, sister-in-law, Esther, and a brother-in-law, Harry Hampton.
Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424), with visiting on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm. The funeral service will be held from the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, July 8th at 11:00 am. Interment will take place in Fernhill Cemetery.
