Gordon Weeks, beloved husband of Louise (nee Lamont), of Hunter River, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on Thursday, July 23, 2015, aged 81.
Gordon was the father of Allan (Phyllis), Blair (Sarah) and Darlene McAllister (Albert); grandfather of Mitchell, Tayler, Landan and Hannah Weeks; Kyle and Cody Weeks, and Cameron and Kristian McQuaid; and Jocelyn, Spencer and Alexa McAllister; great-grandfather of Mackenzie, Kenleigh and Brooklyn; and father/grandfather of his special adopted family, Harmon and Hennie, Roy, Melanie and Chantal Hoekstra.
He is also survived by his sisters, Linda MacMillan and Anna Turner (Myron); stepbrothers, Ivan Day (Audrey) and Eric Day (Mary); sisters-in-law, Linda Weeks, Mary Weeks and Margaret Lamont; brothers-in-law, Fred Lamont (Shirley) and Wilber Lamont (Janet); daughter-in-law Lori Weeks; and several nieces, nephews and friends.
Gordon was predeceased by his parents, Walter and Gertrude (White) Weeks; his stepfather, Gordon Day; brothers, Harry and Ray Weeks; brothers-in-law, Wayne MacMillan and Walter Lamont; and sisters-in-law, Bertha MacKay (Hollis) and Helen MacLean (Stanley).
Resting at Central Queen’s Funeral Home, 2538 Glasgow Road, New Glasgow, for visitation on Saturday, July 25, 2015, 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.
The funeral will be held at Central Queen’s Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday, July 26, 2015 at 2 p.m. Interment in Hunter River Cemetery.
