Rita E. McDonald of Riverview NB passed away on Friday July 24, at the Grass Home. She was born in Moncton NB, the daughter of the late Mélas and Albina (Girouard) Bourque.
Rita was formerly employed with John Deere in Grimsby, ON. She attended Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Riverview.
Rita will be dearly missed by her nieces and nephews, Jeannine (Ron) Marcoux of Riverview, NB, Paul (Dianne) Nowlan of Beaver Bank, NS, Nicole (Larry) Magnusson of Calgary, AB, Michel (Manon) Bernard of La Prairie, QC, Paul (Cecile) Larabie of St-Jerome, QC and Lilliane Larabie of Boucherville, QC.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband Bernard Jourdain, her second husband Stewart McDonald, as well as her four sisters, Juliette Nowlan, Lorraine Bernard, Anne-Marie Larabie and Jeannette Duguay.
The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the staff of the Grass Home and to the Extra Mural Nurses for their compassionate care. It will never be forgotten.
The family will be receiving relatives and friends at Cobb’s Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine Road, Riverview, NB (506-869-2007) on Thursday, July 30, from 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Parish prayers and the sharing of memories will commence at 8:30 PM. A service celebrating Rita’s life will take place at Cobb’s Funeral Home Memorial Chapel on Friday, July 31, 2015 at 11:00 AM, with Father Phil Mulligan presiding. The interment will take place at Cote Des Neiges Cemetery in Montreal, QC at a later date.
Donations to the Alzheimer’s Society, the Canadian Mental Health Association or a memorial of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
