MacDONALD, EDWARD "PAYSON"
E. Payson MacDonald, 81, of Moncton, with his loving family at his side, within the comforts of his home, passed away peacefully on Friday July 31, 2015. Born in Westchester, NS, he was the son of the late Daniel and Charlotte (Dykens) MacDonald.
Payson was a former Barber and retired Custodian with School District #2 and was a member of the Moncton Wesleyan Church. A Detroit Red Wings and Atlanta Braves fan, his hobbies included woodworking, gardening, farming and listening to Wilf Carter.
Payson will be sadly missed by his wife of 48 years, Sharon (McNair) MacDonald; daughter, Heather MacDonald of Moncton; sons, Dean MacDonald (Megan) of Kamloops, BC and Brent MacDonald (Tanya) of Moncton; grandchildren, Sadie, Ben, Michael, Madison and Ethan; sister, Bessie McMeekin of Truro, NS and brothers, Ken MacDonald, Stacey MacDonald (Betty), Rodney MacDonald (Ester), all of Truro, NS and Ronald MacDonald (Shirley) of Westchester, NS; several nieces, nephews and extended family members.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Danny and Deverne and sister, Doris.
Visitation will be held at Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Monday from 1:00 to 3:00 pm and 6:00 to 8:00 pm. A Service to celebrate Payson’s life will be held at The Moncton Wesleyan Church Life Centre, 945 St. George Blvd. on Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at 11:00 am with Rev. Charles Baines and Rev. Dr. H.C. Wilson officiating. Reception in the Church Atrium following the service. Interment will be held in Eagle Hill Cemetery, Westchester, NS.
