JONES, JOHN W. "JACK"
1924 - 2015
Jack Jones of Riverview passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home on Tuesday, August 4, 2015. Born in Wales, UK, he was the son of the late William and Mary Jones.
Jack was with the British Royal Air Force from 1942 to 1947. He was a veteran of WWII, having served in Africa, Cyprus, and Egypt. Once he moved to Canada, he began a 25 year career as manager for Co-Op Atlantic from which he retired. He attended St. George’s Anglican Church and was an avid fan and season ticket holder of the Moncton Wildcats.
He will be dearly missed by his loving wife, Iris (Griffiths), daughter Sue (Luc) Nowlan of Riverview, and son Brian of Delta, BC.
Besides his parent, Jack was predeceased by a brother, Ronald and sister, Mary.
The family would like to thank the numerous doctors and nurses of the George Dumont University Hospital Dialysis Unit, as well as extra mural nurse, Julie. Your compassionate care for Jack did not go unnoticed.
Jack’s family will be receiving relatives and friends at Cobb’s Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine Rd., Riverview (869-2007) on Friday from 6:00 to 8:00pm. A funeral service will take place from Cobb’s Funeral Home Memorial Chapel on Saturday, August 8, 2015 at 11:00am with Rev. Chris VanBuskirk officiating.
Donations can be made in Jack’s memory to the CHU Dumont Foundation Dialysis Unit.
