With family at his side James Edison (Jimmie) Snowie of Ashburn Cres., Charlottetown, and formerly of Breadalbane, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 1, 2009, at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Charlottetown, at the age of 88. Surviving are his loving wife of 61 years, Phyllis (Woodside) Snowie, children, Lynda (James) Weeks, David (Mary Lou), Marlene (Les) Andrews, Janice (Mike) Crapper, Douglas (Friend Peggy) and Michael (fiancé Debbie). Loving Grampie to Kellie (Rudy Saarloos), Michelle (Dan McCormick), David (Sophie), Christopher (Laura Stevenson) Weeks; Alanna (Matt McQuaid), Aaron and Nathan Snowie; Jonathan, Katie and Ellen Andrews; Mark and Claire Crapper and Michael, Jordan and Brandon Snowie. Great-grampie to Alexandria and Kate Saarloos, Kaidence Weeks and Cole McCormick. Brother-in-law to Doris (Thomas) Wallis and Hazel Large. Uncle of many nieces and nephews. Also survived by many, many friends. Predeceased by his parents, David and Katherine (MacDonald) Snowie; his granddaughter, Kimberly Weeks, his only sister, Mamie (Claude) Willett; sister-in-law, Jean (Al) Hickox and brother-in-law, Wyman Large. Resting at the Davison Funeral Home, Kensington, for visitation on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6:30 to 9 p.m. Funeral Thursday in Central Trinity United Church Breadalbane at 2 p.m. Interment in the Breadalbane Cemetery. If so desired contributions may be made to the Central Trinity United Church Memorial Fund or the Breadalbane Cemetery Fund.
