We, the family, are saddened to announce the sudden death of a dear father, grandfather, uncle, brother and son, Peter James Matheson, on Aug. 5, 2015, due to a workplace accident in Lethbridge, Alta.
Formerly from Sydney Mines, Peter was the son of Arthena (Jessome) Matheson and the late Leo Matheson. He was living in Calgary, working as a welder. He lived his life for his family; he loved them all with a deep passion. Peter made many friends along his path in life. He was a hard worker and would help anyone who asked. He will be sadly missed by many.
He leaves behind his three beautiful daughters, Jessica, Kaitlin and Ashley; his son, Kenneth John as well as a stepdaughter, Jordanna Tatchell. He also leaves behind his four grandsons, Michael, Stanley, Jaxxson and Clayton, and his precious pup, Boston. Peter also leaves behind to mourn his mother, Arthena (Jessome) Matheson; his brothers, Paul (Idella), Kevin (Charlotte), Brian (Brandie) and his only sister, Theresa (Larry).
He was predeceased by his father, Leo; his brother, Stanley and the mother of his children, Sheila Matheson.
A celebration of his life will be on Thursday, Aug. 13, 2015, at 10 a.m. in Holy Family Church, Sydney Mines, with Fr. James Oliver officiating.
