Jean Hazel Knowlton
Jean Hazel Knowlton, 91, of The Briarlea and formerly of Saint John, within the comfort of her home, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 17, 2015. Born in Grangeville, she was the daughter of the late Rupert and Beulah (Colpitts) Jones. Jean was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister. She was a life time member of Cornerstone Baptist Church, Saint John. In her younger years, she enjoyed camping and trailering, gardening, playing the accordion and caring for her family.
Jean will be sadly missed by her daughter, Marilyn McWilliam (Bill) of Moncton; grandchildren, Marlene McWilliam of Calgary, AB, Lori Gildart (Joel) of Riverview and Heather Vautour (Joe) of Calgary, AB; great grandchildren, Brittney Cail of Edmonton and Preston Cail of Moncton; sister, Irma Trites of Moncton; many nieces, nephews and extended family members. In addition to her parents, Jean was predeceased by her husband, Alvin Knowlton (1989); daughter, Margaret “Margie” (October 2013).
Visitation at Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Friday from 2:00 to 4:00 pm. A Service to celebrate Jean’s life will be held at Fergusons Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, August 22, 2015 at 1:00 pm, with Pastor Paul Leger officiating. Interment will be held at Ocean View Cemetery, Saint John on Monday, August 24, 2015 at 2:30 pm.
