Roy Lambe
Passed on: August 24th, 2015
Age 73, passed peacefully away, Monday, August 24, 2015 at the Palliative Care unit at Credit Valley hospital. Roy was born April 27, 1942 in the small town of Lord's Cove, Newfoundland to Nellie and Robert Lambe. On July 7th, 1962 he married Roberta, the love of his life. Roy's trade was welding and he went on to start his own company. In the early years in Newfoundland, Roy and family spent most weekends at their cottage in Southeast Placentia. He was an avid fisherman and loved "going in the country" to his beloved Brian's Pond with his buddy Corn and his son-in-law David. Brian's Pond was a place that gave him peace and solitude. In later years, he was the Karaoke King at his community in Florida. Roy's life was devoted to his friends and family. He was an amazing husband, wonderful father and devoted grandfather. Roy was a great person who gave so much to so many, a rare person who was so proud of the legacy he left behind. He touched all those who were fortunate enough to have known him. Roy was a man of strong faith. He was a Eucharistic minister and in recent years was a member of the Pastoral Care team at the Credit Valley Hospital. Some of his fondest memories were providing support to the residents of local nursing homes and group homes. Roy is survived by his wife, Roberta, two daughters, Cindy Stead, Carol Anne Everson and a very special niece, Helen Pike, who was like a daughter to him. His pride and joy, grandson, Mike, and his partner Trish, two amazing sons-in-law, David Stead and Lance Jardine, his brothers Clayton (Ann) and Bob (Linda) and sisters Laura (Domenic) Bessie (Cornelius), Marina (Les), sister-in-law Mildred, the very special Everson family, many nieces and nephews, and other extended family members, as well as Puppy Boy Mason. He was preceded in death by his parents, Nellie and Robert Lambe, and his beloved brother Joe. A special thank you to Dr. Sheldon Fine and Dr. Emily Kuhlmann, AND the amazing nurses at the Palliative Care Unit at Credit Valley Hospital who provided him such great care. Please join us for a Memorial Mass on Saturday, Sept. 26 at 10 am at Mary Queen of Peace Church. 135 Torbay Road.
