April 23, 1946 - March 27, 2008. After a courageous battle with leukemia, surrounded by his family, William (Bill) passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Centre. Predeceased by his father and mother, William and Josephine Baker. Leaving to mourn with loving memories, his wife Mary, his sons Mark (Lisa) and Kirk (Angela); his very special grandchildren whom he loved dearly, Kierra, Bethany, K.J., and Jill. He will also be missed by his sisters: Rebecca Tarkowski (Rick), Bride Ruffolo (Sam), Marie Burkhart (Jeff), Rose Brooks (Bob), Josie Baker, Patricia Baker, Linda Baker, Donna Baker, Shirley Baker and Christine Strickert (Mark); and his brothers: James and Edward; and Mom and Pop Wells and his in-law family. Special thanks to Joan, a wonderful sister-in-law. Bill was a very special person who was there for everyone in need. For those who were blessed to have met Bill, they knew how special and caring he was. He will always be remembered for his wonderful sense of humour. Special thanks to the doctors, co-ordinators, social workers and to the nurses and staff at 4 North A — thank you for your comfort and support to Bill and our family in our time of sorrow. And thank you to all of Bill's family, in-laws, and friends for your love, prayers and support, words cannot express what this has meant to us. Resting at Maher's Funeral Home, Placentia.
