With broken hearts, we regret to announce the passing of Carol Ivetta (Doucette) Donovan, 67, of Ingonish Beach, on Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2015, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Neil's Harbour on Oct. 24, 1947, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Dorothy (Hawley) Doucette.
Carol worked many jobs, but spent most of her days running the family oil business. She was always the "Rosy" voice you heard when you called for oil.

She was adored by her grandchildren, Michael, Jaime Brin, Anna Sue and Arianna; sister, Linda (Barry) Barron, Ingonish, brothers, Bruce Doucette (Annette), Cheticamp, Glen Doucette, Ingonish, and Philip (Venus) Doucette, Antigonish. Carol will also be missed by many nieces, nephews and a special group of in-laws.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Brian Doucette and sister, Emma Townsend.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Murray and staff at Buchanan Memorial Hospital, as well as the doctors, nurses and staff in the ICU at The Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
In keeping with Carol's, wishes there will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place. The funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 5, 2015, in St. Peter's Church, Ingonish Beach, with Fr. Lazarus Guria officiating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
