MORTON, DONNA
Donna left us on Friday, September 4th, 2015, after a brief but brave bout with cancer at the age of 57. She passed away surrounded by her loved ones at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre in Toronto, Ontario.
Donna was the beloved daughter of Mary and the late Carman Morton, and the loving sister of Linda Morton, Marion Morton, Marilyn Morton, and Connie Mowbray (Craig). She was also a cherished aunt to Amy Gibson and Loni Gibson, and a great-aunt to Miss Eva. And of course, doggie mom to her crazy pup Roxy.
Donna dedicated her life to her family and close circle of friends. She was a long-time employee of Aviva Canada in Toronto, where she made many close friendships, but her heart was always back home in New Brunswick. Donna loved kids, Christmas and travelling. She was a keeper of stories and memories. She touched so many people with her kind and generous heart, and will be sorely missed by those she leaves behind.
Donna left this life far too early. Her loved ones will continue her journey for her by living life to its fullest every day, as she would have insisted on in her sensible way, and keeping her in our hearts always.
Visitation will be held at Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995), on Monday, September 14th from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A service to celebrate Donna’s life will be held at Fergusons Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Laurence Quin-Morris presiding. Reception in the funeral home reception centre following the service. Interment will be at St. Peter’s Catholic Church Cemetery in South Branch, N.B. A celebration of Donna’s life will also be held at a later date in Toronto.
In Donna’s memory, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by her family.
