CROSBY, Muriel Burdina – Age 92 of Berwick, Kings Co., formerly of Brazil Lake, Yarmouth Co., went to be with the Lord on Monday, September 7, 2015 after a brief stay at the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Muriel was born in Plaster Rock, New Brunswick. She was the daughter of the late Vernon Guy and Vera Viola (Boone) Crosby. Muriel was a homemaker, enjoying gardening, cooking, preserving, knitting, sewing and especially quilting. Many beautiful quilts were made with friend and sister-in-law, Linda at her home in Brazil Lake. She was a longtime member of the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church in Pleasant Valley and served as a church clerk for many years and also sang in the choir. Muriel was a life member of the Women’s Missionary Society, being president of the group and served as secretary for a period of time. She was a life member of the Brazil Lake Women’s Institute serving as a president as well as secretary. Surviving are her children; a daughter, Roberta (James) Earle, Berwick; son, Wendell (Joanna) Crosby, Kingston, Kings Co.; a brother, Kenneth (Linda) Crosby, Brazil Lake; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Muriel was predeceased by her husband, Harold Oscar Crosby; a daughter, Gail Heather Monk; brother, Raymond Lester Crosby; sister, Glenna Wilberta Hurlburt. There was no visitation. A Celebration of Muriel’s life was held Saturday, September 12th, 2 p.m. in the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, 2873 Hwy. No. 340, Pleasant Valley, Rev. Michael Cannell officiated with burial at the Pleasant Valley Cemetery. A reception followed in the church. Family flowers only, donations in her memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, Pleasant Valley. The family would like to say a special thanks to Dr. Sinclair and the nurses on Medical B unit of the Valley Regional Hospital.
