The oldest of 9 siblings born January 28, 1927 in Pound Cove to Josephine and George Howell. She married Arthur Hunt and moved to Badgers Quay. They had 8 children. After the passing of her husband she devoted her life to raising her children. In 1973 she moved to Toronto where she lived for 39 years. In 2011 she moved back to Newfoundland with her daughter Shirley and son-in-law Bill whom she lived with for 34 years. In July 2015 she moved into Glenbrook Salvation Army Lodge where she passed away peacefully on September 10, 2015. She is predeceased by her husband Arthur, son Derrick, daughter Maisie, parents Josephine and George Howell. Left to celebrate her life, sons; George (Martha), Harry (Jane), daughters; Shirley (Bill), Glenda (Tony), Marilyn (Roland), Diane (Charlie), son-in-law Heber and special family member Eileen, 14 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and a large circle of family and friends. Funeral service will be held on Monday, September 14, 2015 at Memorial United Church, Valleyfield at 11 A.M. with Rev. George Kean officiating. Interment will follow at the United Church Cemetery, Valleyfield. As an expression of sympathy donations in Eleanor's memory may be made to The Heart and Stroke Foundation.
