McLellan, Ivan Sinclair “Whitey”, age 86, of Hantsport, passed away on Friday, September 11, 2015, at Dykeland Lodge, Windsor. Born on July 9, 1929, in Summerside, Prince Edward Island, he was the son of the late William and Pearl (Smith) McLellan. Whitey was an avid sportsman and sports fan, known from the Maritimes to Florida! It was said that umpires would delay the start of the game until they saw Zelda and Whitey seated behind home plate. Whitey was a member of the Summerside Juvenile Hockey Team which won the Maritime Championship in 1943. His love of sports continued, taking in his last Shamrocks game last summer. Whitey is survived by his wife of 63 years, the former Zelda Louise Starratt; his children, Duane (Judi), Sackville, NB; Tammy (Tony) Doucet, Belliveau Cove; Carla (Joseph) Price, Hantsport; grandchildren, Nicolas and Travis; Jeremy and Jacob; Alex, Leah and Lily); great grandchildren, Elsa and Camdon McLellan; Haylen Guptill; sister, Mary Auld; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a granddaughter, Keri Price; his siblings, Marion, Helen, Ruth, Edith, Ira, Bill and Everett. There was no funeral service by his request.
