It is with great sadness that we, the family of Dawn Charlotte MacDonald, announce her passing at her home in Ben Eoin on Sunday, Sept. 13, 2015, surrounded by her family.
Born in Sydney, she was the daughter of the late Alexander and Edith (McDonald) Hawco. Dawn married her husband Ron in 1958 and moved to Boston where they lived for 25 years and raised seven children. Visiting often and missing Nova Scotia and her family, Dawn moved back home in 1988, where she and her late husband Ron were the proprietors of the Me and Mrs restaurant in Ben Eoin.
Dawn is survived by her eight children, Jean (Kevin) Bulger, Chuck (Debbie) MacDonald, Charlene (Brad) Ellison, Doreen (Jon) MacDonald, Jack (Amy) MacDonald, Pam (Bob) Whalen, Diana (Dan) Schuko, Cheryl (John) Reid; 11 grandchildren, Kellee, Christina, Ethan, Dillon, Jennifer, Jessica, Rose, Vanessa, Monica, Alexis and Jason. Also surviving are her sisters, Carmie (Steve) Erickson, Terry Gale; brothers, Jimmy (Michelle), Bobby and Louie.
She was predeceased by her husband Ron; sisters, Sandra Spears and Karen Barrett and brothers, Billie and Jake.
Visitation for the late Mrs. MacDonald will take place at T.W.Curry Parkview Chapel on Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. A funeral service will be held at T.W.Curry Parkview Chapel on Thursday at 11:30 a.m. with Rev. Frank Abbass officiating. Interment in St. Mary’s Parish Cemetery, East Bay. Reception to follow in the parish hall.
