Margaret Burton

Died peacefully after an illness at her home in Dartmouth, NS at the age of 85 years. Born in Corner Brook, NL she was the daughter of late Johnny McCarthy and Norah, (stepfather Harry) Gallant. She was raised by her late grandparents Peter and Mary (George) French. She worked at Bert's Grill for seven years. She was Mom and Nanny to all kids that met her. Predeceased by loving husband of 45 years, Donald Andrew Burton, Stepbrother David and Betty (Hancock) Gallant, Bernie Gallant. She is survived by stepbrother Ronald and Joyce (Reid) Gallant, Corner Brook. Daughters Lucy (Keith) Osborne, Dartmouth; Donna Burton, Dartmouth; Mary Burton, Dartmouth; stepdaughter Pearl Young, Mattis Point, NL. Sons Johnny (Catherine Chafe) French, Halifax; Andrew "Andy" Burton, Dartmouth; Paul Burton, Moncton, NB; stepson Wayne Bennett, Campbell, BC. Grandsons Gregory (Natasha) Osborne; Keith (Haley) Osborne; Kyle, Austin, and Donald Burton; Jason (Tina) French. Granddaughters Katherine (Jimmy) Dormody; Nikita Barrow; April (Mark) Hann; Laura Burton. Great-grandsons Alexander Osborne; William and Ryan Battiste; Landon Hann; Nathon French; Alexander Dormody and one more baby boy on the way. Great-granddaughters Halie and Stephanie Osborne; Deidra Bourgeois; Keira Hann; Brianna and Emily Battiste; Amelia Dormody. A special thank you to Tina Antle for all the great words of support through this illness, Personal care workers, VON, Pallitive Care, Red Cross for their care and support. A celebration of life was held at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 164, in Eastern Passage, NS on Tuesday, September 15, 2015. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 164 kids parties at P.O. Box 13, Eastern Passage, NS, B3G 1M4. A great big hug and love to our brother Andy for all the love and care he gave mom before and during her illness.
