Passed peacefully away, following a short illness with her loving family by her side. On Thursday September 17, 2015 at the age of 95 years. Josephine Kirkland was predeceased by her husband George, daughters Josephine and Judith, grandson Robert Jr. Leaving to mourn with many happy memories of a devoted Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother, George (Mary), Robert (Joan), Richard (Loraine), David (Lynda), Jerry (Edwina), Carol Ann (David Blackmore) and Garrett (Dallas). Grandchildren George (Kelly), John (Mickey), Anthony (Mary), Keith (Carol), Kimberley (Scott Edwards), Richard (Josephine), Stephen (Marley), Linda (Rob) Brunelle, Jennifer Kirkland (Mike Patrick), Heather (Cole) Cranston, Ian, Blair (Anne), Gemma Hickey, Michael (Allison), Pamela (John) Thoms, Erin (Adam) Winsor, Adele (David) Burry, Erica, Jessica, Garrett. Josephine had twenty-three great-grandchildren. She was a quick whit and a kind soul. She loved playing bridge and spending time with her family. She had many friends and was loved by all who knew her. Her zest for life was strong and her mind was sharp right to the end. The family would like to thank the staff of Tiffany Village for their exceptional care during her final days. Resting at Carnell's Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, on Saturday and Sunday from 2-4 and 7- 9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Mary Queen of Peace on Monday September 21, 2015 at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
