SCOTT, JAMES "JIM" EDWARD GOODWIN
1939 - 2015
With his loving family by his side, the death of James 'Jim' Edward Goodwin Scott, 76, of Baie Verte, NB, occurred suddenly at the Dr. Georges L. Dumont Hospital, Moncton on Saturday, September 19, 2015. Jim was a son of the late James and Gertrude (Belden) Scott.
Jim had worked with Correctional Service of Canada for thirty-three years at Westmoreland Institution. He had been a member of the Westmorland #44 Masonic Lodge, Port Elgin, a former member of St. James United Church, Baie Verte, and volunteered for Meals On Wheels. He loved to garden and just being outdoors in general. He was an avid Boston Bruins and Toronto Blue Jays fan. His greatest joy was to have his family around him, and he will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
He will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 54 years, Carolyn, Baie Verte; his children, Janice (Richard) Gallant, Scoudouc, Ken (Cindy) Scott, Quispamsis, Kevin (Nancy) Scott, Sackville and Jennifer (Chris) Stowe, Spring Hill, Tennessee; twelve grandchildren; one sister, Eileen Johnstone, Sackville; six sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law, and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sisters, Dora Munson, Emma Ogden, Evelyn Scott, and Carrie Scott and brothers, Joe, Ralph, Burris, and Vaughn.
Arrangements are under the care and guidance of Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge Street, Sackville (506-364-1300) from where a time of visitation will be held on Monday, September 21, 2015 from 6 to 9 pm. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at 2 pm. Interment to follow in the Baie Verte Cemetery. Pastor Brock Symonds officiating.
