Norma Tower, 75 years of age, of Leicester, passed away on Sunday, September 20, 2015 at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre. Born in Amherst, she was a daughter of the late Lloyd & Helen (Bowser) Simmonds.
Norma was always willing to help anyone in need. She devoted a lot of her time and energy to various charitys and any one who needed assistance. She was will be sadly missed by all of her many, many friends.
Norma will be sadly missed by her daughter, Kimberlee Tower of Amherst, sons, Roderick of Amherst , Gregory Tower of Springhill. She will also be missed by grandchildren Kate-lyn, Jordan, Casey and Mandy, as well as siblings Steven Simmonds, Gordon Simmonds and Janette Gilroy, her partner Billy Carter of Leicester and his daughters, Kathy Bickford & Roxanne Tatarin.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her parents and her sisters Virginia Simmonds and Ruth Fraser.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Furlong-Jones Funeral Home, 70 Church St., Amherst, NS. No visitation by request. A graveside service will be held at the Leicester Cemetery on Saturday, September 26, 2015 at 2 p.m. for family members only with a reception to follow at the East Leicester Fire Hall for friends and family to gather and share stories about Norma.
