John Douglas Paquet
With great sadness we announce the sudden, unexpected passing of our beloved John Paquet.
Forever to be loved and missed by his brothers and sisters, Joe, Ralph, Claude, Ray, Robert, Yvonne, Rosemarie “Goldie”, Sharon and Nancy; sister-in-law, Jean (Murray) Anderson; brother-in-law, Jim (Margaret) Kondo; and many nieces and nephews.
John was born on July 25, 1943 in Souris, PE. He passed away on September 16, 2015. John lived in Vancouver for 50 years with his loving wife Bernice. John was a carpenter by trade and a member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America. He was well known for his generosity, often helping out family and friends with a place to stay. He was always there whenever friends needed help, whether with a project or some mundane chore. He was trusted for his wisdom and advice. John enjoyed golf, fishing, hunting, wood carving and spending time with friends.
After John’s wife Bernice passed away he decided to return to P.E.I. He had a wonderful summer with family enjoying many lobsters, old stories, and laughs. He will remain in the hearts of many, forever.
Many thanks to John’s wonderful friends and Bernice’s family in B.C. for their support.
A celebration of John’s life will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon, September 29, 2015 at Dingwell's Funeral Home, Souris, PE.
