Passed away on October 7, 2015 at the Pentecostal Nursing Home, Clarke's Beach, Samuel W. Mercer, in his 91st year. Predeceased by his first wife Marion, and his second wife Rhoda; as well as his son Sam, and sister Lorna. He leaves to mourn two daughters: Eileen and Doreen; siblings: Eileen, June, Mary, Ross (Marilyn); special caregiver and friend Gloria Evans; along with grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Resting at Barrett's Funeral Home, 73 Commonwealth Avenue, Mount Pearl from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. on Thursday. Funeral Service at 2 p.m. on Friday, October 9, 2015 from Barrett's Mount Pearl Chapel.
