It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Annie Purdy, a resident of the Cove Guest Home, who passed away Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2015, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Born in Sydney on July 21, 1929, Annie was the daughter of the late Eugene and Jeane (Lequichet) Forget.
Annie is survived by her daughter, Beverley, Quebec; two granddaughters, Alexis and Alisha and three great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her sisters, Jean Moore, Louise Wagner, Dorothy (Doug) Clarke and brother, Frank (Isabel), Sydney; sisters-in-law, Inez (William) Bain, Millie Rawlings and Peggy Purdy, Windsor, Ont.; numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Annie was predeceased by her husband, Harry; brothers, Ernest, Eugene, Henry and Joseph; sisters, Albertine and Matilda Ferrar.
There will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held at Sydney Memorial Chapel on Saturday, 11 a.m., with Rev. Rosemary Godin officiating. Interment will take place at a later date.
Memorials may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia, the Cove Guest Home or to a charity of your choice.
