Marilyn Alice Mitchell age 76 of Amherst passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 8 , 2015 at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre in Upper Nappan.
Born in Parry Sound, ON, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Beatrice (Albertson) Langford.
Marilyn married the love of her life Clayton in October 31, 1962. During their marriage they made their home in several communities throughout Canada. The last work posting for Clay was in Amherst, where they choose to retire.
Marilyn was compassionate about her work with the United Way, golfing, socializing with a close knit group of friends and her many fury companions. She also enjoyed daily telephone contact with her friends, family in Ontario and at home.
In addition to her parents, Marilyn was predeceased by her husband, Clayton in 2000 and her sister, Joan Jennings.
She is survived by her brother, Douglas (Geraldine) Langford and her sister, Judy (Gordon) Kingshott as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and many special friends.
Respecting her wishes, cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Campbell’s Funeral Home, Amherst. There will be no services at this time.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Marilyn’s memory may be made to the United Way or a charity of your choice.
