The death occurred peacefully at Beach Grove Home, Charlottetown, on October 9, 2015 of Eileen Hughes, age 99 years.
Born on February 3, 1916 in Kinkora, Eileen was the daughter of the late James Greenan and the late Katherine (McQuaid) Greenan. Much beloved wife of the late Spencer Hughes. Mother of Mary (Frank) Kickson, Trenton, ON; Brendan (Cathy) Hughes, Mississauga, ON; Peter (Helen) Hughes, Trenton, ON; John (Sandy) Hughes, Rice Point and Charles (Cathy) Hughes, Markham, ON and 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Predeceased by infant sons Edwin and Francis, and sisters Mary Grimes, Margaret McMahon, Teresa (Tess) Murphy, Annie Moise, Josephine MacIntyre and brother Peter Joseph (PJ) Greenan and daughter-in-law Linda and son-in-law Frank.
Resting at the Lawless Funeral Home, Kinkora with visiting hours on Tuesday, October 13 from 4-7 p.m. Funeral will be held on Wednesday, October 14 at St. Malachy’s Church, Kinkora, with Funeral Mass celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Interment in the parish cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society or St. Malachy’s Parish Cemetery Fund. Following the Funeral Mass a reception will follow at Kinkora Place.
