Gordon Lenthal Leigh MacKay (Warrant Officer retired)

On Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at his home in Cold Lake, AB, formerly of Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, at the age of 57 years.
Gordon is lovingly survived by his wife of 37 years: Peggy; daughter: Debbie; two sons: Kent (Jenn), John (Jess); six wonderful grandchildren: Rhiannon, Joshua, Christopher, Misty, Aiden and Jamie all of Cold Lake, AB; three brothers: Clarence (Alice) of Trenton, ON, Lester of Charlottetown, P.E.I., Kent (Mary) of Miscouche, P.E.I.; two sisters: Pearl (John) Sawyer of Mississauga, ON, Carol (Graham) Linton of Sherwood, P.E.I.; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Gordon was predeceased by his mother: Mildred MacKay; father: Lenthal MacKay; and younger sister: Adele MacSwain.
Service of Remembrance was held on Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at St. Mark's Protestant Chapel, Cold Lake, AB. A military Slow March brought Gordon's remains to and from the Chapel sanctuary. Officiating: Padre Christopher Willis. Eulogy: Debbie MacKay. Words of Remembrance: Kent and John MacKay, Pearl Sawyer, Yuri Putnin, and Peggy MacKay. Reading: Carol Linton. Pallbearers: Yuri Putnin, Randy Power, Frank Fabis, Frank Szadon, Bran Norman. Reception followed at Warrant Officers and Sergeants' Mess.
Cremation has taken place. Final resting place and Memorial Service to follow at a later date in Prince Edward Island.
Memorial tributes may be sent to the Military Police Fund for Blind Children (MPBFC), National Defense HQ, 2200 Walkley Road, Ottawa, ON K1A 0K2.
