With broken hearts, we the family regret to announce the passing of Sheldon Campbell on Sunday, Oct. 11, 2015, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, surrounded by his loving family.
Born Sept. 29, 1945, Sheldon is the son of the late David and Mary Ann (Shaw) Campbell. He was a wonderful, loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend, who will be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Debbie (MacIsaac); children, David (Cheryl) Lloyd Minster, Alta., Lenore (Bradley), Main-a-Dieu; grandchildren, Kayla and Kody, Main-a-Dieu, Keauna, Cadence and Jaren, Lloyd Minster, Ala., who were all his pride and joy. Also his brothers, Joe MacLeod (Della) and Roddy MacLeod; his sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law and many nieces and nephews, whom he loved dearly.
Besides his parents, Sheldon was predeceased by his brothers, Tommy and Gerard; sisters, Dodey and Theresa.
Sheldon was a member of the Immaculate Conception Parish of Main-a-Dieu and a 35 year member of the Bateston Volunteer Fire Department. He always had a smile on his face and was known to all who knew him for his sense of humour, friendliness and his willingness to help others. He enjoyed his daily drives through Main-a-Dieu and surrounding areas and loved to dance, especially to rock n' roll.
We the family, would like to thank the amazing staff of the Cape Breton Cancer Centre for their unbelievable care.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held on Thursday,‎ Oct. 15, 2015 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. At Immaculate Conception Parish, Main a Dieu. Funeral mass will be held in the church on Friday, Oct. 16 at 2 p.m. with Fr. Jonathan officiating.
A celebration of his life will be held at the Bateston Athletic Club following the service.
Donations in Sheldon's memory can be made to the Cancer Patent Care Fund of the CBRH
