It is with great sadness that the family of Lucy Gill (Gilley) announces her passing on Tuesday, October 13th, 2015 at the Bonne Bay Health Center, Norris Point at the age of 87. Lucy will be remembered for her love for family, her talent for making quilts and knitted goods and her love for a game of cards. She also volunteered in the community with the Anglican Church Women and the Women's Auxiliary. Lucy has been predeceased by her loving husband of fifty years, Clyde Gill, her parents Mildred and Alexander, her step-father, Adam, her brothers: Bert (Elizabeth), Joseph (Lillian) and Richard, and her sister Eunice ("Eunicey") Gilley. Lucy will be dearly missed by her three daughters: Glenda (Harold) Smith, Gloria (Maxwell) McKenzie, Sheila (Oscar) Hatcher; her sons: Freeman (Marie) Gill, Gary (Nancy) Gill; her brother Alexander (Eileen) Gilley; her sister-in-law Lavern (Richard); her fourteen grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren; and a family friend, Corbett Reid. Also, Lucy leaves to mourn a large number of relatives and friends. The family will be receiving relatives and friends throughout the day, beginning at 2 pm, on Thursday, October 15, 2015, at the Church of the Good Shepherd, Norris Point, NL. The funeral service will be officiated by Rev. Canon Louise Richards, on Friday, October 16 at 2 pm, at the Church of the Good Shepherd. The interment will follow at the Anglican Cemetery in Sally's Cove. Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to Parson's Funeral Home and Chapel, Deer Lake, NL.
