We, the family of Christopher Allan Chisholm, 52, formerly of Louisbourg, N.S., are heartbroken to announce the sudden passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend on Oct. 12, 2015, in Houston, Texas.
To say Chris accomplished much in his short life is an understatement. He began work at National Sea Products in Louisbourg. After its closure, Chris furthered his education obtaining a diploma in welding engineering. This was a stepping stone to a career that took him throughout the world in positions of increased responsibility to areas ranging from Hibernia to Ireland, Rotterdam, West Africa and the USA. During the past 10 years Chris worked with TransOcean (Singapore), then Rowan Companies (South Korea). His dedication and achievements brought him to the position of senior project manager. Here, he was proud to oversee the completion of four huge drill ships. Chris recently transferred to Rowan’s corporate offices in Houston, Texas.
Chris leaves behind his best friend and wife, Darlene (Campbell); sons, Adam (Stacey) and Ryan (Younghee) and beloved grandchildren, Camden and Ashden. Chris will be greatly missed by his brothers, Colin (Tula), Athens, Greece, Jack, Sydney and sisters, Jean (Doug) Pearl and Kathy (Willie) MacIntosh, Louisbourg. Chris was held in high esteem by his extended Campbell family and the many nieces and nephews who were very close. Chris made friends throughout the world, welcoming them as family-in-heart and his absence leaves a great void for many.
Chris was born in Glace Bay on Sept. 13, 1963 to the late William and Jean (MacDonald) Chisholm.
He was predeceased by sisters, Mary, Christine and Patricia, as well as in-laws, William (Willie J) and Margaret Campbell.
Visitation will be held on Sunday from 11 a.m.-2 p.m with a celebration of life to follow at 2 p.m. in the S.W Chant & Son Funeral Home Chapel, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney, with Rev. Sheldon Chant officiating.
