CUNNINGHAM, JOAN
It is with sadness that the family of Joan Cunningham, wife of the late Arthur “Gun” Cunningham, announces her passing, which occurred on October 16th, 2015, at the Loch Lomond Villa. Joan was born on June 6th, 1931 in Saint John, to William and Doris (Connor) Burchill.
She enjoyed cooking and baking; especially making her famous Kahlua brownies, and spending time with her family.
Left to mourn are her daughters, Wendy Oliver (Paul) of Saint John and Marron Fewer (Brian) of Maple Ridge, BC, a brother, William Burchill of Saint John, grandchildren Sean (Lian), Susan (Grant), Craig (Ailie), Tara (Nick), and Luke; great-grandchildren Finnley, William, Frankie, and Jack as well as several nieces, nephews, and her best friend, Gloria Hinam.
In addition to her parents, and her husband Art, Joan was predeceased by her brother, Jackie Burchill.
Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424), where the family will receive friends on Tuesday from 1 to 2 p.m, followed by the funeral service at 2:00, from the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances to the Dialysis Unit at the Saint John Regional Hospital, or a donation of stuffed animals to children in crisis (these can be dropped off at the funeral home) would be appreciated by the family.
