It is with great sadness that the family of the late Valsie Louise Parsons (nee Barnes) announces her passing at the Palliative Care Unit at Western Memorial in Corner Brook, NL on Friday October 16, 2015 at the age of 85 years. Valsie was a witty, fun loving wife that loved cooking, baking, knitting, and sharing time with her family. She especially loved getting everyone together for a laugh and some good food. Valsie passed peacefully away in the arms of the love of her life, her husband of 64 years, Noble Parsons, whom she leaves to mourn. Also leaving to mourn her loving family Lucy (Elliott), George (Sandra), Sam (Debra), Wanda (Don), Ruby (John), Robert (Tatiana), Laura (Chris), and special granddaughter, Tracy (Craig); 14 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren. Valsie also leaves to mourn her brother Clarence Barnes, her sisters-in-law: Mary and Daisy, her brother-in-law Harvey (Ivy), and a large circle of nieces, nephews and friends. Valsie has been predeceased by her parents Wilson and Lucy Barnes, and her grandson Jason Upwards. The family will be receiving family and friends at the United Church in Trout River, NL, on Sunday, October 18th, 2015, from the hours of 7-9 pm, and continuing on Monday, October 19th, 2015, from the hours of 2-4 and 7-9 pm, where also the funeral service will take place on Tuesday, October 20th, at 2 pm, with Rev: Miles Vardy officiating. The burial will follow at the United Church Cemetery in Trout River. Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to Parsons Funeral Home and Chapel, 63 North Main Street, Deer Lake, NL.
